Although takeaway curry still holds a place near and dear to our hearts, it would appear the Italian favourite has secured our takeaway top spot. According to a recent survey, 90% of Britons scoff down a pizza at least once a week.

In fact, the UK currently boasts over 12,500 restaurants that serve up takeaway pizza. Compare that to 12,000 Indian takeaways and 10,500 fish and chip shops.
