Why did we do this?
Well, the Royal wedding is on the 19 May. Everyone knows that. And by everyone, we mean everyone. And people are obsessed. Kate and Will did their best to upstage the couple by giving birth to another child, but only fanned the flames. The football decided to stage the FA Cup Final that day, and people just shrugged. Even the fact that we don’t get a Bank Holiday hasn’t deterred the excitement.
This got us thinking. Imagine, just imagine, if you’d planned on also getting married on the 19 May. It would be like those unfortunate souls you sometimes meet, whose birthday lands on Christmas – their family have to come up with a solution, like doing Christmas in the morning and their birthday in the afternoon. Long.
Imagine having the unenviable task of keeping guests engaged during a two hour church service whilst THE ROYALS WERE GETTING MARRIED. We pictured a multitude of phones slyly hidden beneath blazers, sneakily refreshing live updates of Harry and Meghan’s big day and whisperings along the lines of:
‘Psssst Mark, look. Mark look. She’s about three metres from the door. Ooh how exciting!’
‘I just can’t believe he’s doing it. Reckon his stag was mad though.’
And we just couldn’t stand for that. We want EVERYONE who is getting married on 19 May 2018 to have the attention they deserve. And whilst we can’t host a football match, give birth or set a bank holiday, we’re going to try and make the day special in the best way we know. By giving tonnes and tonnes of free food. We’re almost tempted to get married, just to be in with a shout of winning the prize ourselves.
But if marriage sounds like too much of a big deal, we have plenty of meals ready for you now. No strings attached. No commitment needed. All you have to do is tap that app.
