Big Fat Panda

Was a bit apprehensive after reading their first review but decided to give them a try anyway. They delivered 40 minutes after order was placed. Aromatic duck with pancakes was delicious, and really enjoyed the Dim Sums. Glad to have tried them as we love Dim Sums.

We ordered from Big Fat Panda tonight and really weren´t that impressed. We got confirmation of the order at about 7:15pm. At close to 8pm we called to see where the order was, to actually add something on. They said they were just doing it and so I asked if we could add something to the order. They said yes and it would be with us soon. They then called back about 10 mins later to say they couldn´t add on the extra dish or it would take lots longer as it was now ready to go out. The dish we wanted was a steamed dim sum dish which surely wouldn´t have taken 10 mins to cook, but never mind. It then got delivered shortly afterwards, about an hour and 15 after we ordered. The dim sum was OK - not great but fine. The duck however was very poor. The duck had no real flavour and was sliced not shredded and just tasted bland. It definitely wasn´t like crispy aromatic duck so don´t order if that´s what you´re expecting. Also the accompanying sauce is HORRIBLE. It does not taste like any duck hoisin sauce I´ve ever tasted - it tastes of chemicals and nothing else. It is not pleasant. We resorted to trying the sweet chilli sauce and the pork char sui sauce instead but it just wasn´t the same. The char sui pork was average - not great. Overall I wouldn´t order again, unless maybe just for dim sum, and then I´d have to be pretty desperate because few places deliver dim sum in South London. Shame.
