More about Sumo Salad

Takeaway Description

At SumoSalad, we make healthy food fast. We want every dish to taste amazing because we don't think you should have to choose between a tasty dish and a healthy one. Over the years fast food has got itself a bad name and SumoSalad is here to change that. Fast can be healthy. And it can definitely be fresh and flavoursome. The SumoSalad Story SumoSalad was started in Sydney, Australia, back in 2003 by two guys, Luke & James. Their dream was to set up a healthier alternative for people on-the-go. They recognised that our lifestyles were changing but that our eating habits were dictated to by what was available at the time, not necessarily what people wanted. Luke & James set up their first store, helped by friends and family, and have not looked back since. SumoSalad now has over 80 stores in Australia, as well stores in New Zealand and Dubai. In 2008 they met Dominic and David, two Brits with a love of retail and great tasting food. They felt that the UK was ready for an explosion of healthy fast food and so bought the rights to bring SumoSalad to the UK. They now have 2 stores open in London with grand plans for expansion across the UK. Healthy Fast Food At SumoSalad, we make healthy food, fast. We want every dish to taste amazing because we believe you shouldn't have to choose between a delicious lunch and a healthy one. Over the years fast food has got itself a bad name and SumoSalad is here to change that. Fast can be healthy. And it will definitely be fresh and flavoursome. No hidden ingredients At SumoSalad we cut out all the hidden ingredients that you get in so many of today's processed foods. Through careful sourcing, and by preparing our food fresh in store each day, we can be confident that our customers won't be filling themselves up with unwanted nasties. The Sumo Guarantee At SumoSalad we like to think that 'Fresh is best and quality is key' - that's our guarantee to customers. We never use artificial colours, preservatives or genetically modified products and avoid unnecessary fats. We get up early in the morning to produce our food on site every day. What we don’t sell that day, we don’t sell. Why? Because of our commitment to the freshest, tastiest food possible.

Not pleasant. It took an hour over the estimated delivery time, they gave me 2 wrong items, and completely forgot another item altogether. The service I received when I called asking after my order was, "All orders are out for delivery." Not helpful.

We ordered Sumo Salad in our workplace for our lunch. The order was made at 11.45am and delivery was expected at 12.50pm, which is quite a long wait in any case, but we decided to order it anyways. The food did not arrive through our door until well after our lunch hour was finished at 2.30PM- which obviously meant that we did not have time to eat it. Whilst we were waiting we were dealt with quite rudely by the staff at Sumo Salad. It was only after we were furious with them over the telephone that they agreed to not charge us for our food. When the food did arrive I realised how much of a waste of time it had been because it basically would have costed us at least £10 each for a meal that I could have easily made at home. The chicken shnitzel salad did not have all the ingredients mentioned in the menu and basically consisted of lettuce, parmesan and a small bit of mushy chicken. The pasta was bland and flavourless to say the least. I will definitely NOT ORDER HERE EVER AGAIN and I do not would not advise anybody to waste their time or money in such a poorly run establishment.
