National Cake day is here and that can only mean one thing… A whole day dedicated to our favourite sweet treats. Yup, you heard right. Saturday is the day to indulge in all your favourites, totally guilt free. And the even better news is that you don’t even have to leave your sofa to enjoy ’em. You’re welcome.
Check out our list of the top desserts from around the country to order in while watching… from waffles and crepes to hot cookie dough and shakes, you’ll find a sweet treat for every craving…
As the name suggests, you’ll find all kinds of shakes on the menu at this dessert parlour in Birmingham. But, alongside delights like the ‘Careless Wispa’ shake (which combines Wispa, flake, chocolate shavings & chocolate sauce) you’ll also find treats like their special chocolate doner kebab.
Spicy Hut might not be an obvious choice if you’re after something sweet, but trust us when we say that their dessert menu is beyond impressive. You’ll find sundaes, waffles, pancakes, crepes, ice cream and cakes all waiting to be discovered. If you need a hand choosing what to order, we reckon the butterscotch or ‘Monkey Business’ waffle basket could be a winner.
While Cravings has loads of top desserts on the menu, we can’t help but be intrigued by the Irn-Bru ice cream float. If you’re after something a little more traditional though, be sure to check out their chocolate fondue.
With everything from gateaux to frozen yoghurt and hot cookie dough specialities be prepared to spend a while deciding what to order. We’ve got our eye on the ‘The Royal Waffle’ which combines a fresh waffle smothered with Nutella spread and served with Ferrero Rocher pieces, drizzled with Chocolate syrup. We’ll take two…
These guys served up thousands of doughnuts to hungry customers at the Just Eat Food Fest this summer – one look at their menu and you’ll see why. From their famed Zebra cronut to the mouthwatering Cinnadum Doughnut, skip the queues in store and get them delivered right to your door with Just Eat.
It’s easy to get distracted by the names of the glorious shakes on offer at Cakeaway, and the ingredients that make them up are just as inventive too. From the Rastafari Bob Marley Shake – tri coloured shake infused with pineapple & banana, topped with cream & fondant marijuana leaves – to Bounty coconut covered dipped strawberries these guys certainly have a way with desserts.
You’ll find all the usual suspects at Buzz Bar in Newcastle, but this place really nails it when it comes to feeding a crowd. If you’re having a party, or just a night in with mates, check out their special deals and offers. We’re particularly impressed with their ‘Party Pack’ which brings together four shakes, four cakes or a cheesecake, plus two brownies, two plain waffles and a pot of vanilla ice cream. Oh, and we promise not to tell anyone if you order it just for yourself…
Champion Crepes in Nottingham boasts over 70 delicious shake flavours and unlimited combinations, so if it’s a shake you’re after, be prepared to spend a while choosing your favourite. Plus with options like cheesecake, doughnut and flapjack shakes you can have your cake and drink it too.
Looking for something a little different? Try Rassams incredible ‘Tower Sundaes’. These fully loaded desserts aren’t for the faint hearted, but if you reckon you can take one on, may we suggest the ‘Oreo Biscotto’. Served with mini oreos, oreo crunch, cookies, cream gelato and drizzled with warm white Belgian chocolate, biscotto gelato, otto caramel whipped cream and wafer this truly is a dessert made for champions.
