Jamón (aka Cured Ham)
Jamón (aka Cured Ham) is probably the most celebrated Spanish food export. Traditionally, legs of ham were salted and hung to preserve them through long winters. Jamón Serrano (of the Mountain) is most popular and comes White Pigs, Jamón Iberico comes from Black Pigs. (Both come from Just Eat and can be eaten in many ways, in salads, as Croquetas or as part of a sharing platter but – honestly – you can’t beat thinly-carved, melt-in-your-mouth slices just popped into your mouth with a little piece of bread. Food nirvana. Another trad fav is Tortilla (aka Spanish Omelet) which is delicious when made with Chorizo, Peppers and Onions. Although, purists will tell you it should only ever contain Eggs, Potatoes and Onions. (Either way, your Just Eat app will serve you nicely.)
Churros
A great way to start a Spanish-themed Day is with Churros. These popular snacks are fashioned from a fried dough pastry, then cut into sausagy-like shapes before being liberally showered in sugar. A real fave at fiestas or street parties, they are also particularly sensational when plunged into a cup of Thick Hot Chocolate. Sugar meet Rush, Rush meet Sugar. Gazpacho is the famous tomato-based Andalusian Soup, which (like revenge) is best served cold – especially in a Seville Summer.
