Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Shashlik, Solyanka Soup, Borscht, Pelmeni – food isn’t the first thing you think of when you think of Russia, until you’ve tasted it.

Russians love rich and hearty comfort food with a home-cooked feel. Lots of soul-warming soups and meaty feasts. Borscht is the most famous of the soups – a brilliant and brothy blend of meat, beets, tomatoes and veggies. Beef Stroganoff is surely the most famous of the meaty feasts – with the beef beautifully sautéed in butter, white wine, mustard and smetana (sour cream). Another winner is Pelmeni – bite-sized boiled dumplings usually made with Beef or Lamb. Shashlik is wicked too – the Russian-style kebab of your dreams.

But we suggest you stop dreaming and start ordering from somewhere near you, via the Just Eat app.
