Fancy a taste of the Continent? Let Just Eat deliver some Continental fancies. Like French classic, Crème Brûlée , which is timeless (and with you in no time). Also called ‘burnt cream’ it’s a rich custard base under a contrasting top layer of hardened caramelised sugar. Profiteroles are an elegant way to devour a mountain of French choux pastry puffs filled with sweet whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Rather have an Italian job? Tiramisu is a coffee-flavoured dessert made of ladyfingers dipped in coffee layered in a mix of eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese. Panna Cotta is a classic made from cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and gelatin. Tartufo – Italian for truffle – is a small ball of gelato (healthier ice cream) made from two flavours covered with a chocolate shell. And don’t forget Cheesecake , first mentioned by a Greek physician in the 5th century BC. (We can assure you, ours will be 2,500 years fresher).

Planning an impromptu mid-afternoon or late-night sugar rush? Just Eat is the way to rush the sugar. Desserts from the Middle East and Far East offer exotic alternatives to the best of the West. Baklava is a rich, sweet dessert pastry made from layer upon layer of filo crammed with chopped nuts bound with sticky syrup or honey. Turkish Delight (or Lokum) delights more that just Turkey – it gifts the whole world with (guilty) pleasure. Premium varieties consist of chopped dates or pistachios, gelled together and flavoured with rosewater, Bergamot orange, or lemon. Basbousa is a traditional sweet cake made from cooked semolina soaked in syrup with coconut. Halva is a densely sweet, crystallised paste of sesame seeds and sugar. Kanafeh is thin noodle-like pastry, soaked in sweet sugar-based syrup and often layered with cheese, clotted cream or nuts. You’d be nuts not to.
